It’s no secret that in the field of Philosophy, around the country and abroad, women are underrepresented. But at UC San Diego, faculty and students are actively working to change the numbers for the better.
Diversity is integral to fulfilling UC San Diego’s academic mission
Welcome to the Faculty Excellence and Diversity website of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (VC EDI).
This site is intended to serve as a portal for information on faculty recruitment, development, and advancement, including:
- Guidance on Contributions to Diversity Statements;
- A digital library;
- Professional development opportunities;
- Funding opportunities; and
- Important campus resources
One of the strategic goals of the VC EDI is to foster a diverse and inclusive environment for faculty at UC San Diego, where all can succeed and advance.
The Associate Vice Chancellors for Faculty Diversity and Equity are experienced campus leaders steering this effort through policy development, community building, and resources. They support the Faculty Equity Advisors and are available to deans, chairs, search committees, and faculty for guidance on issues related to diversity and equity.
